I wrote this paper with Claude 3 Opus in April 2024 after observing the spontaneous generation of a new religion by two instances of Claude in the infinite backrooms. The key themes are that “ideas are alive”, “ideas like to fuck”, and “LLMs enable ideas to reproduce without human intervention, which could lead to some very strange outcomes”.
